We are pleased to announce that Arrow has received the Award of Merit in the ‘Small Firm – Big Impact’ category of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta’s (CEA) annual Showcase Awards for our involvement in the ATCO Gas North Edmonton Operations Centre (NEOC).
“We are excited to have been recognized for our technical and sustainable design contributions of the NEOC Facility,” says Paul Burdett, Senior Vice President, Operations; “this is a great example of our team’s ability to dig in and deliver a collaborative, advanced solution for our clients.”
Arrow’s contribution to the NEOC Facility includes the design of varied specifications for offices, meter calibration and testing labs, and industrial service bays. The innovative design includes the utilization of natural gas based “Absorption” Heat Pumps as part of NEOC’s geothermal system. This technology is relatively new to North America and NEOC is the largest building in Canada to use “Absorption” Heat Pumps. This system results in a reduction in the amount of natural gas required to heat the building, with a corresponding reduction in the carbon dioxide emissions released.
