We’re pleased to announce that Arrow received the Award of Excellence in the “Building Engineering – Commercial” category, by the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) at their annual CEA Showcase Awards, for our work on the Mayfair on Jasper project.

The Mayfair on Jasper is one of the first residential buildings in Edmonton to implement a cogeneration system, which repurposes wasted heat into usable energy, and Arrow’s Mechanical and Electrical teams played a significant role in the design of the cogen system and photovoltaic array of solar panels. The intent of the design team was to build a project which adhered to principles of green design while reducing operating costs.

“This project is a great example of the efficiency and cost savings that a cogen system can introduce to the built environment” says Robert Prybysh, Arrow’s Chief Engineer and a key contributor to the project “our client has been extremely happy with the system, which is very gratifying for our team.”

The CEA’s prestigious annual event recognizes engineering projects in fifteen categories for Excellence and Merit. The Gala also profiles the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Distinguished Achievement in consulting engineering as well as the Harold L. Morrison Award given to a prominent Rising Young Professional in the field of consulting engineering, and is attended by over 500 industry leaders and distinguished guests.

As we look back on another year, we take the time to reflect on how truly fortunate we are. As always, we’re thankful to work in vibrant cities and communities with our valued colleagues and teammates.

Throughout 2017 we’ve continued to feel the pressure of a challenging economic climate – as have many of our clients and friends. We know that great organizations treat difficult times as an opportunity to improve processes and invest in their people, and as we reflect on 2017, we firmly believe we’ve succeeded in this. We’ve been fortunate to welcome new team members and their families into our community, have contributed to some truly ground-breaking projects, spent thousands of hours on improving our work, and expanded our Edmonton office to move our entire team to a single floor. All that said, we know that it is not profit or projects awarded that mark us as fortunate, but the relationships and support we feel from our clients, our team and our families. We are truly blessed.

Charitable giving is an important part of our culture at Arrow, and we strive to give back to our communities throughout the year. Over the past 12 months, we’ve had the pleasure of sharing our good fortune with over 50 organizations. We traditionally choose to donate to charitable organizations instead of giving gifts over the holiday season, and this year we made a sizable donation to The Mustard Seed in Edmonton.

As we’ve turned the corner towards 2018, it seems as if the economy is moving towards a more stable state. With this hope in mind, we’re looking forward to connecting and working with you in the coming year. We offer you our humble thanks for your contributions to Arrow, and wish you and your loved ones peace, joy and prosperity this holiday season and in the year to come. Merry Christmas!
