Arrow Engineering Adapts with Working Remotely to Keep Project Work Going.

Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are far reaching with very few left unaffected. Our business, our people, and our clients are no exception. During these unprecedented times, we remain focused on what matters most – doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19, the well-being of our employees, maintaining operational resilience, and supporting our clients. Our entire leadership team is actively monitoring the situation and is supporting our employees and the operations to make agile and decisive decisions.

We are a business of people and their safety is our priority. All of our engineers, designers, and administrative staff are working remotely from home to help prevent infection. Arrow was quick to implement this early on and are using internal infrastructure networks (VPN), SKYPE and Office 365 applications to ensure teams can communicate and file share with ease. Our teams are still working to meet with our clients (virtually) and support project work, while respecting the guidelines put in place by the governments and the World Health Organization.

We are proud of our team for facing this challenging situation with resiliency and adaptability. We are all committed to doing the best we can. Facing these critical times can only be done when we all come together and do our part as corporations, governments and individuals.

We will overcome this challenge together.

Do not hesitate to reach out to your Arrow contact or project manager, or contact our general number and speak to the receptionist who can direct your call.

The Pilgrims Hospice Society has worked hard to bring their dream to reality. In the summer of 2019, a new Hospice home development broke ground in the heart of a residential community in Edmonton. This is an exciting time for the Pilgrims group as more and more people are able to choose an exceptional, community-based place to rest their heads for the final time.

Arrow Engineering was a part of this important project, completing the mechanical engineering design. As big supporters, we are happy to share the amazing and heart-warming video the Hospice Society has put together to share their impact on the residents and families they serve.

NEWS RELEASE: Arrow Celebrates 13 years and its 6000th project

August 7, 2019

Local engineering firm celebrates 13 years of success and marks its 6000th project―despite challenging times.

EDMONTON – As Edmonton, and all of Alberta, are faced with challenging economic times, one local company still has reason to celebrate. Arrow Engineering, founded in Edmonton by three local Edmontonians, opened their engineering consulting business 13 years ago and they have officially booked their 6000th project as of July 31, 2019.

Despite the variable market, Arrow has seen an average annual growth rate of over 23% since inception, growing to be the largest buildings engineering group in Edmonton and one of the largest in Alberta.

“Like most companies, we feel the impacts of today’s economy,” explains Paul Burdett, Senior Vice President and Co-founder. He continues “…[but] over the last 13 years we have grown as an organization and built solid relationships with clients based on service and value.”

Since 2006, in addition to a branch office in Saskatoon, Arrow has expanded to include electrical, structural, civil, and most recently, geotechnical engineering services.

CEO and President, Greg Burghardt explains, “we focus on our strengths and strive to provide our clients with optimized designs to support the success of their projects. That is how we’ve stayed successful during these challenging times.”

Burghardt has almost 30 years in the construction industry and sits on the board for both the Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) and the Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) where he works to improve the construction industry for the next generation. He is passionate about growth and development in our city and across our country.

“It is my personal goal to provide a great career experience for as many great people as possible,” explains Burghardt, “having a culture that encourages the ongoing development of continuous improvement ideas makes us different and inspires positive change. We believe our people are the secret to our success, and we are proud to have consistently high engagement levels and an award-winning culture.”

Arrow Engineering is among many other grass-roots, local Edmonton companies that continue to help grow and positively shape our business community. Like many, they are optimistic for the future of Alberta and Canada.
